Better yet, an entire axle falling off of your robot. And you don’t know where it came from and yet the robot performs perfectly fine. You now become paranoid as to where the axle goes or belongs to, and you have a match in 5 minutes.
And the reason you’re so paranoid is that you know if you don’t find where it goes, the robot will stop performing perfectly fine and break during the real match, not during a practice match or test or anything.
Don’t you hate it when the judge did stuff that are unfair (like not counting points that should have been counted)?
don’t you hate it when people confuse judges and refs?
It’s worse when it’s a high strength one.
Don’t you hate it when your team captain suggests building a robot that actually extends to the full length of the field just because it’s in the rules?
I think your team captain would like to see this ![]()
We white screened right before the finals once I took about 5 restarts to get it to work.
Warning!
this is a rant, be prepared for me to be really annoyed.
A few weeks before the first comp of the season, our middle school teams had just gotten their V5 sets, because their mentors had not realized they needed it at the start of the school year and they didn’t let the teams start meeting until they had their V5 stuff. These teams were then forced to make the standard claw bot according to the instructions, (down to the bolt placement) and were not allowed to make any changes to the design. they were then thrown into a comp, with no guidance or prep whatsoever. Now this is not to bad, it does make some sense that they should learn how they stuff works before they really start going at it, but the thing is, they had to keep the same bot and code, with no autoton, for. the. rest. of. the. season. They were not allowed to be creative, or experiment with different ways of doing the challenge. They were stuck with a claw bot.
This is not meant to hate on claw bots, but at least those teams built their claw bots with some creativity.
tip: replace the plastic inserts in the omnis with metal inserts, and also use lockbars and screw the omnis directly to gears/sprockets when you can.
We got one of the small grey omni wheel pieces knocked off and we couldn’t find it. luckily we had some spares
I hate it when my parents tell me to study for the milestones, thats why sometimes at night I stay up and do some practice or else have the test i would have no skills for worlds.
Can you please type in legible English?
I think I might be able to translate: I hate it when my parents ask me to study for [Big Test], thats why I stay up late doing skills driver runs or else I wouldn’t have a good skills run for Worlds because of [Big Test]
I feel like studying for a test is many times more important than getting a good score at worlds. Not really something you should be bragging about on the robotics forum.
Dont you hate it when people on the vex forums bring up real world problems especially on the topic specifically designed for personal enjoyment
oh wait thats literally what i just did my bad peeps
Don’t you hate it when the Head Ref is also the coach of 6 teams? And somehow those 6 teams always sit on the judged awards? But don’t you love it when you steal excellence from those teams at States and they end up not qualifying for worlds? Hehehe the good times
wait wait shouldnt this be “Dont you just love it when”? I feel like this is more of a sarcastic topic than anything, but that aint sarcasm
You’re definitely smart enough to interpret that. Ankith just types differently and that isn’t something you should be bothered by. I see that he’s already got a lot of hate around the forum for the way he types so don’t add to that.
