I wanna hear people’s opinions about this.
I would say no to color sorting. Since it is a one possession game, you don’t really need a color sort. You are probably going to know what color is on the pin. And a lot of the bots being brought up have a claw or a lifter. So unless you just want to show off, then no you do not need a color sorter.
How about you share your ideas first and then ask what ideas other have…
I think this is a general problem on the forum for asking possible solutions before thinking of your own.

I think I might need it cause my teams driver.is colorblind
Sorry for asking but what kind of color blindness? And what is this team mate going to do (build, journal, etc).
he’s told me he’s mostly worried about not being able to tell the difference between blue and yellow but he’s saying he should be find he is our driver
Color sort isnt necessary if your driver is good
Plus limit posession of one helps
I would disagree. In Push Back, for example, there are times even the WCs accidently intaked blocks of the opposite color. Color sort lets the driver focus on more important things, like robot and element positions instead of worrying about what’s in the robot.

eh I don’t think so- you’ll be holding a pin at a time and probably wont need it
Ah but I disagree, there’s a clear difference from this year’s games from last years game. This year’s game has a possession limit of one, while Pushback had no possession limit. This makes it much easier than last games to manage the color of the game object within the robot. The exceptions would be if you built a mechanism that would flip the pin to a designated color, or if the driver is colorblind.
If your driver is colorblind you could just tell them what way to put in in what cup
I would say otherwise due to how this years game is. You have to be fast pace then anything in order to get a good score.
Because they are colorblind some type of color sort might be beneficial if they think they need it.
