I have seen dr4b trays make stacks on stacks at events. most I’ve seen is a 7 on another 7. but I’ve yet to see a robot win anything with that strategy, it’s just too risky and too hard. better to have a tray that’s 13-14 cubes long than a shorter tray that stacks on top of stacks.
It wasn’t awful. we could stack up to 8 cubes at our first tournament which was in mid November. We got highest skills score at the tournament and the excellence award, but the design had a massive flaw. Even with something to line the cubes up for you, you had to push the cubes enough that they would be flush with the robot and that was extremely problematic. We had a seven cube auton, but once the match started and cubes got shuffled around it was near useless.
