Driver in Skills prog box?

Just curious as to what other teams from around the world do in this situation. Do you guys have your driver in your skills prog box and why is that? For me, as the driver, I want to see our actual code working and i sometimes remember and point out if we should change the code at certain times.

We ask our driver to refill the bins holding the triballs for us. Makes our life as matchloaders much easier.

Oh, sorry if you’re confused, I don’t need help with any programming. I’m just asking weather or not you have your driver in your prog skills box.

oh yea we do we use them to help matchload or help as another drive team member

Most of the time we keep our driver in, but only for moving the bins of acorns (to help with matchloading) and occasionally for recording. He’s honestly mostly there for a matter of convenience…easier to have our drive team members go from a match to skills than to hunt someone down.

I’m the driver for my team, and I match loaded with the rest of my team because we had a catapult that went really fast.

Isn’t 3 people match loading onto the robot illegal or something?

What rule or Q&A makes you question the legality of having 3 people match load?

Empty statements don’t move the conversation forward. You might be correct, you just need to be able to prove it. :slightly_smiling_face:

As long as only one hand is crossing the plane at a time, you can have 3 people match loading.

No, unless you show a rule that states that. I don’t believe that the game manual states that 3 people match loading is illegal.

This is allowed just make sure not more than 1 triball is breaking the plain.
As seen in this video: Big Brains Robotics Skill’s run

Just wondering, do you have your driver in your prog skills box?

Yes I do. Someone needs to be there to remove triballs from the bins if the loaders make a mistake.

We run our auton skills for both auton and driver.

If you watch that video I would have given that team a zero. The next triball cannot break the plane until the one before it has been placed. While two hands can break the perimeter at the same time, once you place the triball you should try to pull it back as fast as possible as a safety measure.

The driver must also stay in the driver station, which they did not. That is a much easier rule to enforce and it should have been caught by the referee. Any amateur could have caught that. If students are loading quickly you can try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I could easily see many times where they had two tribals in their hands across the plane at the edge of the field.

Oh, I thought that was the right video. Ill try to find the right one. Thats why we doulbe check :sob:

They were definitely breaking the triballs crossing the plane rule, and one of their loaders was one the side of the field too.
