Driver's skills field set up

I saw that someone had posted online about a different set up for driver’s skills. I do not see that in the manual. I have attached the pdf that I found. Is this the correct field set up? Also, is autonomous the same as driver’s skills? Thanks for your help. This is my first time coaching

Near the end of the PDF is a “simplified appendix” that is similar in goal to the PDF you found.

To answer your questions:

  1. Yes, the starting locations of elements in skills are different to teamwork. The relevant rule is RSC3 on page 51 of the manual PDF. The field setup images in the document you linked are also correct.
  2. Yes, the RSC rules apply to both Driving and Autonomous Skills. The field setup for both types of skills match is the same.

Here’s my controversial opinion – don’t bother printing out the game manual. You can’t ctrl-f or click a link on a piece of paper, both of which make navigating the manual much easier. Plus, a scheduled update will render your printed copy obsolete in a month or two anyway.

The manual is also available as a web page and in the “VIQRC Hub” app on iOS and Android, but the PDF I linked previously is the official, canonical version. Specifically that link will always redirect to the latest version.

Personally I open the PDF in a web browser if I happen to be at a computer, or the Hub app otherwise.

its correct but the red closest to the red triangle goal is in the robots claw how ever you want it to start but your robot must have the red pin

It doesn’t have to be in the robots claw. The rules state that it must be touching the robot[1], however it can be already in a holding chamber, in a conveyor belt, or even, if you don’t want the preload, just on top of the robot or on the side, not in use.
