Extending Reverse Stacker Idea

I don’t believe there is.

One topic that keeps appearing is how the system drops cubes. One could simply reverse the way the intake is going. One thing to be concerned of is weight. If the cubes are hollow, it wouldn’t be a problem. Also, what is a back-plate?

The official weight for each cube found in Appendix A is 285 plus or minus 10 grams. Which is .606 to .650 pounds.

Thank you, that helps a lot!

So, using the video, I’ve been able to build one half of the intake. It has some movement flaws, but works well.

Movement flaw fixed. One can use zip ties to hold the c-channels together.

What software did you use to make the model/animation? It looks very cool.

What kind of capacity have you achieved?

As @John_TYler has already mentioned, sharing something with the community will help you get picked at Worlds (and before). Also, if you share extremely helpful designs, it puts you in the running for some of the awards at Worlds. One of my friends on 9791C made an autonomous selector that turned out to be very useful. It was then used by more than a handful of teams used at Worlds. Because they shared with the community, they got the Inspire Award in Opportunity. So, although being the only robot of that type can be useful, sharing it usually outweighs the disadvantages.

I saw the new idea, much better. How do the clamps clamp?

The prototype works pretty well.

If this intake was on a lift that is insane because you can stack on top of pre-existing stacks, place cubes in towers and pick up cubes quickly. 4 motor mechanum drive, 2 motor lift, 1 motor leaning mechanism, 1 motor tank tread or wheel intake mechanism.

I think if you do a holonomic drive, it should be an x or h drive. This allows for you to go in any direction at once, not just the four main ones. An x or h drive would let you have, for instance, a shorter and smoother auton.

But yes, that would be (I think) close to the meta. If you haven’t seen them already, 81K has another two versions out, and you should check them out.

Yep, this is the exact design and motor distribution I’m working on right now.

I have a question. How many motors does this use and what speed did you set them at?

And how did yo get the metal bars to keep going up?

Sorry not metal bars *c channels

It is an animation and there are no motors. It isn’t 100% realistic and just meant to get the idea/general design across.

Also you can edit posts on vexforum.

Ok thanks. Also, how to do extended those top bars without locking them in place with a screw?

They stay in place so how do you make a rail for that to go up by being pushed by the cubes?
