According to (horizontal expansion limits) and (unlimited vertical expansion), robots may extend vertically during a match but must always remain within an 11" x 24" horizontal footprint.
If a robot has a vertical extension mechanism (e.g., an arm or linkage) that can move outward during its motion, but is intended to stay within the 24" limit during match play, would this generally be considered legal? Or does the robot need to be physically constrained so that it cannot exceed the 24" limit at any point?
