All of these talk about some pros and cons, but it is the general consensus of vex people that screw joints are better for this.

Complex Tray Joints

First off, how wide is your tray? Please give pictures, and also, use plates or even c-channels for custom screw joints. If your tray folds backward, then you can use vex hinge pieces. If not, then a screw joint on the side of the tray will suffice. If you have to, look up 448x’s easy design (the documentary) for inspiration to see the concept, but do not copy thier design, as making your own design is a good learning experience. Screw joints vs high strength shafts

With all of the two bars this year would a screw joint be able to handle the weight or do you need a high strength shaft

Linkage Joints

How are you planning on joining your four bars, RD4Bs, six bars, etc. together? I’ve heard a lot about using screw joints with nylocks, but that proved to be incredibly static and required much effort to move. Is anyone using axles? Any help is much appreciated!

Dr4b axle or screw

Is it okay to use axle joint instead of the screw joint for the part where the lower part of dr4b meets the tower?
