Gen 2 VEX IQ Controller Sticks

I know the correct answer is to simply not break the controller sticks. Heard.

But, I’ve got about 4 broken ones and the gen 1 sticks are not compatible.

VEX does not sell them by themselves.

The 3D models they have do not have the gen 2 controller or the controller stick separately.

Anyone found a solution to the sticks? Or are my kids just breaking too many???

For me the question is unclear. Just don’t break them.

We will have to cancel the annual throwing of the conrollers… But what about the children???

How are they breaking? Not what causes it, but what’s the issue?

The “annual throwing of the children” ??? Is that allowed? I guess it would be a bit like this: Throwing of the Children

On the gen 2 ones, the disk at the top of the stick either falls off and we can’t get it back on, and on one it just broke in half.

These are the result of drops on the floor. No throwing of controllers or children. I deny all allegations.

The easiest fix would be to just get some of the sticks, but they don’t sell them. If I could get a file to print, that would be a different option. I’m not yet smart enough to do that myself. But I hope someday. And I don’t know if that would be legal for competition.

If we could do that, then we might be able to do the buttons too. That would be fun colors etc.

Concrete lab floors here, so no stranger to broken controllers. I cannibalize previously broken controllers when possible to get parts to swap out. Would love it if VEX sold replacements parts for controllers.

This goes to the problem that I’m having. They are the only part of the Gen 2 controllers that are breaking. So I can’t cannibalize the other controllers because this is the only spot that I’m having a problem with! Oh well…
