I think that many of you guys are overlooking many of the weaknesses of wallbots/super stackers. In any case, unless the superstackers can score independently, it will be more a matter of who picks them not who they pick.
I agree, the majority of the “special” robots this year will have to be carried to elims by an effiecient scorer
Does green egg know that their robot has been revealed, they haven’t said much on this thread and their website still says that Ferd V is “still to come”

They know. Leland doesn’t mind at all that its been released. He said he didn’t care about it, the other members of the team wanted to keep it a secret. 
This quote kind of pisses me off :mad: we rely on Vex staff to control the game that we are competing in, and when you show that you are playing favourites with a top team, and are “deeply amused” that anyone else should hope people give a ****, it makes every other team who has to pay $750 just for registration a bit nervous about how level the playing field is. This thing is just a wallbot, and I will be amazed if they show up at worlds with this, especially after all the secrecy. Personally I am amazed that people are acting so impressed. Any team with a wallbot answer this, who DIDN’T think of giving it the ability to score before deciding it wasn’t worth the motor cost?
what do you think they are going to make a game next year green egg is ready for what does having the vex people like your robot have to do with anything
he isnt an inspection guy or ref so why does that worry you

We have a wallbot that can score around 27 points in driver skills…

You “wallbot” is a 6 bar lift with a cage that can tip itself. If you get pushed on your lift I bet it will move easier.

Well still… wallbots are still bots that weigh a lot. If you saying that it doesn’t score, or is like Green Eggs completely, then its a wallbot, i just saw old 404c as a 6 bar that could tip itself
I had trouble parsing this.
When a team says they tip themselves to be a wall bot it can be assumed that this was only found out accidently during a practice match. I very much doubt they made this on purpose.
Let’s not take this thread where it doesn’t need to go.
But anyway, I don’t know if any of you guys were at that tournament they competed in, but I know I was surprised a wall bot went undefeated in the qualifications. Maybe I shouldn’t be, I don’t know.
But my guess is what will set green eggs apart at worlds will be how they do what they do. They weren’t the only goal dumper at worlds last year, but they were the best. And I will say this is the best wall bot I’ve seen this season.
I also agree with the statement that they will likely modify their bot by the time worlds comes. If there is one thing I know about green eggs, it’s that they evolve their robots like crazy! :eek:

Not sure how I’m playing favorites. I deeply enjoy seeing creative, competitive, ingenious robots. I see them from any number of teams each year. There are a number that REALLY impress me every season.
It just so happens in the past two years, two of the ones that impressed me most had the number “44” on them.
I’ve been waiting to see GER’s 2011-2012 creation for quite some time given their past record of making my jaw drop. How does this anticipation un-level the playing field?
What I do not enjoy, is someone posting in the unveiling thread of another team and trying to push the hype to their robot. A personal pet peeve. I didn’t mean to make you question the integrity of the competition.

First of all, this is not the official unveling thread of GER, it is merely a thread making it known that their is a video of Green Egg’s robot in action. I would also say that many of the people saying “we’re revealing our robot in a week” or something along those lines aren’t expecting as much attention as Green Egg. They just simply are excited that they have finished their robot and want other people to be excited with them. I also would say that nobody here is trying to “push the hype to their robot” because nobody can match the the track record of Green Egg in terms of design and performance. In any case, I’m sure almost everyone here is excited to see GER’s design so no one should blame you for that, even if you are Vex staff.
