The modifications required would teach the people that build BLZi the engineering design process, which should be required anyway in vex.
I completely understand that, and I am not arguing that at all. My stance is that it hasnât been said that modifications are required to compete. The type of people to build this robot are ânewer VEX teamsâ, just like they said, who may not realize they need to check the size, and then show up to their first comp with an out of size robot. Iâve seen it happen countless times.
Thanks for pointing this out! This is different to the physical robot and weâre looking into it. Weâll post again when we know more.

For me at least, itâs for that reason. Having a more shallow angle is a lot easier to intake, but it takes up a lot more space at the same time. Having a steeper angle is harder to get working consistently but it saves a lot of space

Thank you, everyone, for pointing out the size issue. We apologize for not recognizing this sooner. We have created a new video outlining how to get BLZ-i into size. Hopefully, this allows BLZ-i to be a viable solution to this game.
One thing we found after shooting the video is it is essential to remove a bar on the intake. If you look at the picture below, the 10-hole 1x1 should be removed from the bottom of the intake. We hope this fixes the problem.

The Onshape CAD model has been updated with the sizing fixes. Since Onshape is a cloud app, just open it, and the updated version will be there.
Iâve been studying the Onshape CAD and I noticed that you used a combination of a sprocket and flex wheel instead of a traction wheel in the drive base. If you wouldnât mind, could you tell me why you decided to use that and how you did it?

Thanks for creating and sharing this design. Where can I find the .313 nylon spacers needed to build this? I donât see it anywhere on the vex store. Is it competition legal to order them on other websites?

For any question about the legality of something, we must turn to the game manual (or the Official Q&A). As you read the game manual (https://link.vex.com/docs/2022-2023/vrc-spin-up/GameManual ), keep in mind that the game manual tells you things that you must do, and things that you are prohibited from doing. It canât tell you everything you might do, so if the game manual does not prohibit an action, then it is generally legal. The game manual does not generally discuss any particular game strategy or mechanisms you might use.
