I suppose this isn’t quite exploding but at a competition my teammate was driving and didn’t realise the intake was spinning backwards so he just kept trying to pick up a green block. We had connected the motor to the intake roller with chain, so the chain eventually decided it had had enough and broke.
This was our first match of the competition…

That sounds like a very good idea…
I don’t remember whether we had our wheels in actual drive sandwiches or whatever they’re called or not. Afterwards, we switched to only having 3 wheels and a 2 motor drive, even though I think we also had these weird little black things with gray wheels too. That was during tipping point.
I think we were just really bad at tightening shaft collars at first.
