During a match today my team was disqualified for goalkeeping. We were given a warning and upon hearing we immediately pulled our antler out. There are several issues with this call in my opinion and was given an sg10. At the end of the game they informed us that we had been disqualified and we informed them that we disagreed and wanted to argue that. They then told us it was final and that we had to leave the field. WE NEVER AGREED TO THIS RULING and i immediately went to the event host who told me we could not have it fixed because we left. However we were forced to leave. Ill attach the clip of the goal keeping but im aware video can not be used but we should have been allowed to argue our case. This is a big deal as this is a regional event to qualify for worlds. This has been very disheartening and I want to know if there is anything I can do.
I believe that though you did leave forcefully and the ruling was wrong, just because of the fact you did leave, according to “Drive Team Members are permitted to immediately appeal a Head Referee’s ruling. If Drive Team
Members wish to dispute a score or ruling, they must stay in the Alliance Station until the Head Referee from
the Match talks with them. The Head Referee may choose to meet with the Drive Team Members at another
location and/or at a later time so that the Head Referee has time to reference materials or resources to help
with the decision. Once the Head Referee announces that their decision has been made final, the issue is
over and no more appeals may be made”

Whether or not you agree with the ruling doesn’t matter once the head referee has made their final decision. Asking you to leave the field after that seems very reasonable, considering it’s a state championship, so the match schedule is likely to be very busy.
T1 was applied. T3 says once an appeal is heard and the HR says the decision is final, the appeal is over.
Setbacks happen. Move on. EP, GDC, and RECF can not do anything in the instance. Game Manual is clear.
as a fellow referee sg10 requires to give verbal warning before giving disqualification, after reviewing clip attached the ref did give a verbal warning, your driver still then proceeds to push blocks into control zone affecting the current score which caused the disqualification, although the T1 was issued i feel the ref should still let you explain what you seen and heard during that time but yes the ruling was correct but ultimately referees should still remember vex is a extracurricular and are there to help prevent rule violations and make sure the competitor experience at competitions was good .
Here’s my notebook ai( sorry if he is mean): that’s a rough way to end a regional. but thinking you can show the ref a video or that the event partner can save you is straight up ridiculous.

- by leaving the field, you forfeited the opportunity to use specific field context or information to appeal the decision.
- the event partner has ultimate authority on non-gameplay stuff, but they cannot overrule a head referee’s gameplay or robot decisions.
- under rule , you should be verbally warned away from goalkeeping and only receive a violation if your robot remains in the goal.
- for goalkeeping to escalate to a disqualification, your team generally needs three or more violations in one match or three matches with at least one violation.
- human judgment is part of the game, and when a head referee says the decision is final, the issue is officially over

Not every ai is terrible as long as you double check important information.+ The ai I used was notebookllm.
