Can anyone help me identify these parts? My wife and kids found some random HexBug/IQ parts while thrift shopping a while back, and everything except these was easy to identify as either clearly legal or clearly not, but I can’t even find a part number for these:
Near as I can tell, they came from a Gatling Rapidblast Launcher which would have part number 406-8305, but that kit isn’t among the build instructions on the HexBug site, and my GoogleFu has turned up nothing.
We’ve already had a few ideas for places they’d be useful, but I want to make sure we can at least justify them with some documentation that they are a legit part – if not get them added to the legal parts list for this year – before the kids really consider using them any more because they’d be in pretty critical places.
They may be from an older generation of iq but most iq 1 X n’s have a different pattern on them so I don’t think they are competition legal. I think if you want the easiest way to a response you just send an email to vex or ask it in the Q and A system.
The Gatling Rapid Fire comes in two versions. Motor version is 406-6108 and has a 4 arm component 228-5575-156
The “turn the crank” version you show ( HEXBUG VEX Gatling Rapidblast) has the 6 leg version. I’m going to say you should be good with the new version parts. Good luck with your season!
Hi, that’s a pretty sweeping statement. Other than the 6 arm part all of the other parts are accounted for in this seasons legal part list. I would expect that the updated list will have the six arm part in it.
One thing to remember is that the only way presently to get the colored components is to purchase these smaller kits. It’s one of the reasons I have a stockpile of them. It’s still worth buying the entire kit if color is something you are after
I think it depends on what you’re looking for. Last season I was specifically looking at the motion accessory packs and they had them in 8-10 different colors still.
