Help us guyyss

so we have a problem in the drivetrain the motors are overheated a lot do you have some solutions ?

If the motors burn, they didn’t deserve to be on your robot in the first place. /s

Some tips:

  • Make sure that the cables are not in ports right next to each other.
  • If you are using a 2-motor drive train on 4 wheels or 6 wheels, increase to 4 motors to help relieve the stress on the motors.
  • Make sure the spacing is not too tight, because that can cause excessive friction.
  • The gear ratio isn’t too high.

Hope this helps!

Go ahead and search the forum before asking a question and making a new topic. Here is one to start you off. Vex motors overheating every 4 minutes

Also, we can help you more if we know more about your problem. Just a psa

Pictures please!!!
But there are many people who have come across situations similar to yours, and you can search up on the forum “drivetrain issues” and many topics should appear.

But to check, VEX motors will overheat after a certain period time (ours takes around 20-30 mins of constant driving to overheat), so make sure that this occurs in a short period of time before declaring an issue.

Anyways, if they are overheating unnaturally, as a general troubleshooting method, do the following:

  1. Swap out/test for faulty motors/cartridges (I doubt this though, since it sounds like all your motors overheated, which sounds like a build issue)
  2. Check your code (making sure all motors are spinning in the right direction)
  3. Check for friction (plenty of topics on the forums about this, search them up)

That doesn’t make any difference.

Friction could be the problem, motors dealing with excessive friction overheat a lot faster than ones dealing with normal friction

You can decrease weight, add motors to your drivetrain, decrease the gear ratio, or decrease friction. This is pretty much as specific as possible without seeing pictures.

Bro use a fan to cool them off, that what I do
