Hey other than of course the trophy, does winning vex worlds get your school a grant or somthing? is there any other prize?

just wondering, considering vex worlds is on ESPN 2 (XD) you figure its a big event with big awards

Edit: the red trophy is a rare commodity. to some, it is consider as priceless.

Winning Regionals helps / makes it easier to get more money from the School Districts. Doing well in your Worlds Division helps you get outside money. Winning worlds gives you access to more outside money.

Your school will take your regional win and Worlds win and try to get more STEM dollars from your district. Your district will take the wins to the State Level School (DOE) to get more STEM dollars. Your school. district, state will start sticking your win into grants / awards to get them more visibility.

In the case of STEM Robotics it helps me get more grants to use to start teams, I can say “Hey we started team NNN, see what they did in three years! Give us more money to start more teams.”

Winning looks good on your college applications. Going “Did robotics for 4 years and was the World Champion in 2021-22” is a big deal. “Hey, we want 74019Botherguy to come here we should admit them and get them some grant money to make their parents to want to send them.”

Highly recommend winning Worlds :roll_eyes: there are lots of benefits.

I would expect Excellence, Tournament Champions, Robotic Skills? I have not looked into this question for this year. But notice this in past Worlds…

  1. All Excellence Award winners – from each division according to grade level.
  2. All Teamwork Challenge World Champions – The two (2) teams on each winning alliance
    from each grade level from the VEX IQ Challenge at VEX Worlds 2021.
  3. All VRC World Champions
  4. All Teamwork Challenge Division Champions – The two (2) teams on each winning alliance
    from each division at each grade level from the VEX IQ Challenge at VEX Worlds 2021.
  5. All VRC Division Champions
  6. Top 10 Robot Skills Champions – The teams with the top 10 skills scores from each grade level at VEX Worlds 2021.

Note: If a team double qualifies by winning multiple spots from one or more of the above criteria, that spot is not given to another team.
