High Stakes Digital Notebook: Advice?

I’m starting work on my digital notebook for High Stakes. I have never done a digital notebook before, and since VEX hasn’t released the High Stakes official format (and I didn’t like last year’s) I’ve made my own.

It may look a bit strange, but part of that is because I removed all personal information like names and a couple pages that were for returning the binder the book would be printed in if it was lost, etc

I’d like to see if this is a good way to go, how it is so far, some advice, and I’d love constructive criticism.

Also, for reference, the next pages I have planned are for the game itself. Once our season starts and we have team names decided and such and the team is together, I’ll do the CAD files we’re making and also talk about time management with a gantt chart or something.

That is a File Link specific to your computer. We don’t have your files, so we sadly cannot see your notebook. :frowning:

You can add it with the upload button in create-post, or drag-and-drop it from your files directly.

Thank you, I’ll fix it.
Also, I already saw that, it’s useful, I’ll look at it more, I’m taking a bit of inspiration from their book.

As for this thread, I intended it specifically for the book, so I will repost that in a second.

Here’s some constructive criticism (sorry if I sound rude, it wasn’t intentional):

  1. You mixed up Day and Month on Table of Contents (In DD/MM/YY format as stated, 6/8/2024 hasn’t happened yet)

  2. I don’t really think digital notebooks are “Naturally” Neater…, but can be better formatted better. This doesn’t lead to it being natural though.
Tip: Remember to proofread (if you wish).

  3. Maybe a more informational name for the pages of the Intro to our System category?
Tip: Only keep your title generic if it still describes all the pages very well.

  4. P.9 you may have mistakenly written “Select” instead of “Brainstorm”, and same with “Brainstorm” instead of “Select”.

  5. Try to fill your notebook with key details, not everything.
Tip: More informant = Better. More pages ≠ Better

  6. Because you said you are going to put the pages in a binder, I think it might help to make the even-numbered page numbers on the left side, not the right.

  7. Notebook 1 out of 1…? You might want to clarify that.

Btw, I like P.2’s Format Intro. Rarely any teams (including us) think of adding this.

Thank you. I have noticed those little errors and fixed those. That’s not the actual version, it’s just some of the earlier pages. Right now there are about 25 informational pages not including title, table of contents, etc?

Number 2 I say because I don’t think a single person in my program has good handwriting, and formatting is cleaner

Number 3 I will follow, it does seem a little bland

Number 7 I now realize that putting that there was maybe unnecessary, it’s just that with physical ones there’s always a bit everywhere that is like “notebook _ of _”

Number 6 I didn’t even think of, that’s smart, I’ll see if I can do that

Number 5 I understand, I just blathered a bit for the introductory bits.

Here’s an updated version.
