How do you travel with that 3 foot long pole?

Hi,

We are flying to Louisville KY this Sunday. could we take that 3 foot long pole with us when board the Southwest airplane? we could put them in a 3-ft-long box that’s 2 inch by 2 inch square (36 x 2 x 2), with a roll-up banner, which is also about 3 foot wide. Anybody has done air travel with this kind of long skinny objects?

Better call the airline so you don’t have a surprise at the gate.

I cut ours in the middle and used a wood dowel to splice it back when setting up. Worked great for the US Open.
