I saw a good robot called a ‘hugger’ at our school district’s latest competition, and I want to know how to build one. Could someone give me instructions? (Will post photo when I find one)
What is a “hugger”?
It’s like a claw but the arms are bent inward. It has spikes on the inside.
I urge you to experiment on designing and building a robot on your own rather than asking how to build one. The forums is a great place to ask for advice; for tutorials, not so much.
Here’s a photo:
That is a claw…
I know, but when I search up claws, it shows me either the standard pre-made vex claw or it shows a different type of claw.
So… your point?
And I need instructions for this type of claw.
Just figure it out by looking at the picture, Nobody is going to give you instructions. In case you haven’t noticed Vex is about innovating and creating not instructions.
+1 to this

You have to research and see what you need to do. No one is just going to give it to you on a silver platter.
And what if I don’t have the time to figure out how to build it? What if I’m a seventh grader trying to do RESEARCH?
@MasonatorRobloxxer well, robotics isnt easy, all part of the challenge isnt it
Getting the picture of what works is the research…
But I don’t have any close-up detailed pictures of it.
This post - the vex forum in a nutshell.
So researching should be challenging?
Getting the picture of half of what works is half the research…
