Hi, our team just went to our first competition of this season, and I’m interested to know how we should go from it.
We have already agreed that we are going to do a discussion to brainstorm ideas and problems that need to be solved.
What else should we think about or do? Also, what would you put in your notebook for this time period?
Thank you for your responses.
One thing that I would recommend doing would be to get a big whiteboard (or something similar depending on situation) and write down EVERYTHING that you discuss after the brainstorm session. Come up with ways to solve problems, pick a few that the team likes, and make a design matrix. Rank each one based on how well it solves a specific part of the problem, and repeat. Once you’ve ranked each one on all of the parts you want to solve, move forward with one of the best (in theory) designs. TAKE PICTURES OF ALL OF THIS. These will make excellent Notebook slides, and my team has been doing it for years.
- Think about concepts or designs you saw and were inspired by at the competition that you might want to work into your robot
For notebooking, put down all your ideas and things you want to try, also so you have a log.
Should put what you did well and what you can improve on.
