I have vex iq bot. I keep getting no compatible devices found. How do I fix this?

I’m connected to my computer (HP), I downloaded the driver to my computer, I am on codeiq.vex.com . I don’t know what else to do I keep getting no compatible devices.

  1. Is your brain turned on?
  2. Did you use a USB-C Cable to connect the brain & computer, & is it properly connected?

I experienced a similar issue before, one that was caused by a bad connection on the brain side of the usb cable. Try slowly moving the brain end of the cable around in a circular motion when it is connected to the brain. For me, bushing the brain end of the cord up would make the brain connect. I know my wording could be misinterpreted, so here is a diagram of the cord position that worked for me:

The red arrow shows the direction that I applied force in (be careful not to put too much force because it could break something) and the dot at the bottom of the arrow is the location where the force was applied.

Sounds like a new cable is needed there. I find many low cost USB-C cables only last about a year with constant use.

You’re completely right.

The only reason I didn’t replace the cord is because downloading code to the brain doesn’t take all that long and I’ll have to grab the robot to go test the program anyways. (It doesn’t really get in my way.)
