The amount of contact time will affect the amount of momentum being transferred from the flywheel to the disc, i.e. the longer the contact time, the higher the momentum will the disc is ejected out.
but of course that also means the flywheel will slow down more as well.
So everything is a trade-off. And that’s where finetuning comes into the picture - you just got to find the best balance for your purpose.
