I'm building a new tool for VEX teams and want community feedback!

I know a few people have recently asked similar questions about scouting and team tools, but I’m mainly looking for honest user feedback on what teams actually need and what would be most useful in a real competition workflow.

I’m trying to understand:

  1. How does your team currently handle scouting, strategy notes, and match prep?

  2. What part of scouting, notebooking, or team organization feels the most tedious or time-consuming?

  3. What features would actually make you want to use a tool like this regularly?

  4. If you’ve used any VEX tools before, what did they do well and what did they miss?

  5. What would make a scouting or team workflow tool feel easy, useful, and worth trying?

I’d really appreciate any honest thoughts, complaints, feature ideas, or examples from your own team’s experience. Thank you!

Hello @Sahil_4610T,

@Jedi_53787N, @vulcan, and I have been building a tool to do just this and we are actually releasing it this Friday. We are really striving to make our tool to be made for the communities needs just as it seems you are trying to do.

The tool we are currently making is a tournament companion and has come far from where it was when we initially announced it in this topic. We also have plans to make other tools for the community. It does seem our missions align pretty closely. We are looking to grow our team, if you’re interested let us know.

Thank you,
Seth Griffin – Omni Dev Team

Hey Seth — yes, I’m definitely interested in joining. I’m also trying to build my own VEX app, but my idea is a bit different since I’m focusing more on team workflow, shared scouting, and making everything easier for the whole team to use in one place. Your tournament companion sounds really cool though, and I’d love to learn more about what you’re building and see if there’s a way I can contribute.

I’m glad to hear your interested, I have emailed you with more information.
