I'm trying to start a Vex IQ team in my school

It’s in the title; since I already did Vex IQ outside of school, why can’t I do it in school?

(For reference, I go to Worcester Public Schools, and I live in MA, I’ve already contacted the principal and the high school robotics director (V5RC), and they said to get more people to help.)

If anyone had any suggestions, that would be great!

I recently started my own school team because my high school didn’t have a VEX team, only FIRST, and I wanted to continue doing VEX from the middle school and compete with the other high schools in my district.

What you’ve already done is good. Idk if you’re in middle or elementary school, but try to find a teacher who would be willing to do that. Then stay in contact with your school admin or district steam/robotics coordinators.

After that see if you can get parts from any grants or anything like that, do fundraisers, or see if other schools in your area have old parts you can use (this is how I got my team this year, even if it’s clawbot kit like I have now, it’s something) . Good luck!

Ask WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute for those not from MA) for help. They have been a supporter of FIRST Robotics for years. Note, Dean Kamen, founder of FIRST, was a WPI drop out. AND, WPI is supporter of VEX Robotics

Hello, I am also required to form a team to participate in the upcoming local competition in my country. What advice would you give me as a first-time coach? I am trying to learn, but I feel that I haven’t reached the level of knowledge required yet.
