We would like to introduce Robosource.net, a new site & fundraising initiative offering low cost parts, tools & game elements for VEX Robotics teams.

We’re always looking for feedback on our new store, so feel free to send your questions, comments, suggestions to [email protected]. Also, as a “grand opening” discount, you can save 15% on orders before September 19 with the coupon code Save15.

Here is a brief summary of the different items we have available. For the full selection be sure to take a look through our shop.

Plastic Sheets
Inexpensive polycarbonate & ABS sheets for use on your robot.

Lubricants
Oils/Greases including White Lithium Grease (in handy single-use packages), non-aerosol WD-40, and synthetic oil.

Wire Management
Split wire loom for organizing cables and handy self-adhesive clips that perfectly fit VEX wires (I really like them:)).

Elastics/Rubber Bands
Rubber Bands in various types & Latex Elastic Tubing

Spacers
Round Nylon Spacers available individually in the sizes you need.

Pneumatic Tubing
Pneumatic tubing available By The Foot & in precut 5ft lengths.

Zip Ties
Cheap Zip Ties are always handy to have.

Hook & Loop
Hook & Loop Fastening Tape/Wrap & Self adhesive tape

Tools
Inexpensive Hex Keys, driver bits, and more useful tools planned for soon.

Low Cost Field/Game Elements
Available are Balls, Low Goal Mounting Brackets, Full Field Kit w/ official VEX Nets. Also field corner brackets.

Shipping is from USA & Canada which reduces costs (let us know if the price calculated on the site seems too high). Balls currently are and the rest of the products will soon be available through eBay also, but the prices are slightly higher due to eBay’s fees.

Have you thought about selling individual pneumatic components like valves and fittings?

Yes, individual SMC pneumatics parts is definitely something we’ve considered and will work on for the near future.

Alright, alright I got another question/idea:
Do you plan on selling individual vex components from kits? An example would include just the ratchet and pawl gears rather than the whole which and pulley kit

We don’t have plans to split up the Winch and Pulley Kit, sorry.

Another example would be the VEX gears, as they currently only come in kits.

We don’t have any plans either to sell components from VEX kits individually.

How do the balls compare to the VEX official balls in durometer?

Any chance of doing shipment to Singapore?
I do understand that we will incur a higher freighting cost.

It’s a bit hard to compare the firmness of the balls very precisely due to the range of variances in both the official balls and our unofficial balls, but I would say that on average they are about like this compared to the official ones (making a little diagram is probably easier than explaining in words):

For sure! Just send us an email [email protected] and let us know what you’re interested in and we’ll find the best shipping options for you between our discounted pricing with the US Postal Service and Canada Post.

As we don’t sell official VEX products I wouldn’t directly say that we’re cheaper than VEX, but we focus on offering a wide variety of compatible and competition legal products, many of which aren’t regular VEX products (i.e. plastic sheets, wire management, etc), of course at low prices to save your team money.
