I’m looking at different CAD options for robot design and was wondering how Inventor Professional 2026 compares to Fusion 360 for VEX projects. Fusion seems to be the most common choice, but I’ve heard Inventor handles larger assemblies and complex mechanisms very well. For teams or individuals who have used both, which do you prefer for designing, testing, and managing robot assemblies throughout the season? I’d be interested to hear about performance, ease of learning, and any advantages you’ve noticed in actual competition preparation.
Just to expand on my question, I’m particularly interested in assembly management, motion simulation, and ease of creating custom parts for VEX robots. If you’ve used either Inventor or Fusion 360 for robotics projects, I’d love to hear what worked well and what didn’t.
