Is having a barely functioning 0 motor intake better than a well functioning motorized intake?
Usually you want intake speed to be very high. If you can’t intake fast, you can’t score fast, regardless of how good your other mechanisms are. If you are going for a mostly defensive, high-motor drivetrain and aren’t going to try and score a lot, it might be fine.
This is up to you to find out. Run tests, like how many discs you can score in 15 seconds with each intake. Record your results and put them in the notebook. Then you have your answer.
Depends. What do you need the other motor for? Can you spare it for the intake or is it absolutely required?
It depends on your strategy and how you play the game
I would recommend having something very reliable for as important a job as picking up the scoring elements, it would be hard to play the game at a high level if it hardly functions. But, sometimes simpler is better (occam’s razor).
Make sure to document this process in your notebook!
How is the intake powered? Also, a well-functioning intake would be ideal, since scoring rings is basically the only way to score points. (minus hanging) . I’m intrigued by how you managed to make a 0 motor intake though.
Welcome! I would advise that a well functioning intake is probably better, even if you have to use a motor.
How do you have a 0 motor intake. Depending on how you set it up a motorized intake is most likely better.
No. A well functioning 1 motor intake is better than a poorly functioning intake, motor or not.
A poorly functioning intake is better than no intake.

Is this question for IQ or V5?
The post is under IQ so I would assume that it is meant to be an IQ question. My answer was based on IQ so I hope that it was intended to put it under IQ
It was for iq, idk if I posted smth wrong bc it’s my first post lol
It was for iq sorry about that
Oh, it’s IQ. Here are some of my findings after mentoring to a week-long camp

For the newer kids, forklifts work really well. They used the herobot byte base, but with their own build forklift arm. Wonderfully simple and effective.
-
For kids wanting a step up, intake rollers are a great mechanism. Faster, more consistent intaking, with the opportunity to use a thrower.
-
For the experienced kids, an intake roller and a flywheel is seeming like a popular option.
