Is using AI to code in VEX AI legal?

Teams may not use Large Language Models, or similar forms of artificial intelligence (AI), to create or improve the code used in competition, as the resulting code does not reflect the skill level of the

I’m aware that rules regarding the use of AI for coding have been made very clear for the 2026-2027 VEX season, but how do these rules apply regarding using tools like Claude to code in VEX AI for Pushback?

using Claude to create competition code for Push Back is still prohibited under the requirement that all work must represent the students’ actual skill level

use common sense and your stuff gotta represent your skill level, it should be fairly obvious that AI use violates that.

Thing is, it’s an AI competition, do (or should) the same rules apply ?

G4.cii is clear:

Teams may not use Large Language Models, or similar forms of artificial intelligence (AI), to create or improve the code used

This G4 rules apply to all variants of the Game - VEXV5, VEXU, and VEXAI.

If I missed something, let me know.

Do note that VEX games use abbreviations that are not industry norms - for example, GPS in VEX does NOT refer to Global Positioning System… It refers to Game Positioning System.

I suspect VEX AI does really refer to Artificial Intelligence - but maybe Augmented Interface – who knows

if you make your own LLM, sure why not, but if youre using Claude…

just use AI to learn. fr it’s gonna explain stuff way better than any teacher, coach or mentor.
then write your own code, don’t be in your flop era :eyes:
