Legal VEX IQ Rubber Bands

From the illegal parts list:

From the manual:

So how can any #64 rubber bands be illegal for competition?

Also, if an inspector has the illegal parts list on hand it does appear at first glance that the rubber bands are illegal, even though they are also on the legal parts list…???

From the legal parts list:

I believe that is a typo, 228-2500-470 is part number for rubberband #117B.

relevant Q&A and while the quoted rule would include the cool black bands from the Hexbug Crossbow, Gear Racer, and Catapult (V1) 499-2850-056 seems excluded…

Not sure what official stance is on typos and conflicts between Game Manual Rules and Legal/Illegal Parts List.

OK, that would make sense… I did note to myself that #117B was missing as it had been discussed recently, but I didn’t have the foresight to check the part numbers.

Thanks!

I can confirm that 228-2500-470 is actually the massive #117B size used in the Crossfire kit.

Thanks for spotting this typo; I have forwarded this on. :slightly_smiling_face:

The appendix has been updated. Apologies for the confusion!

What about part number 499-2850-056 ?

It’s a #64 rubber band, shouldn’t it be legal under <R8>b ? I’d be happy to post the the official Q&A, but want to make sure I’m not missing something silly…

I agree, 499-2850-056 is legal according to rules, unnecessarily excluded in appendix. Your turn at Q&A…
Go for it. Or just ask @DRow or @Art_Dutra_IV ?
