We plan on using the red netting from the goals in over under on our robot as part of our block storage. It will help contain balls inside of our robot. Is it still legal to reuse old/previous field equipment on our current robot?
This is actually an interesting question that I think is a current gray area in the rules. It was for sure not allowed in spin up, but this year there has been no qna regarding premanufactured nets yet, meaning I think it could be allowed.
There is a rule for IQ stating:
“. Only VEX IQ components specifically designed for use in Robot construction are allowed. Using additional components outside their typical purpose is against the intent of the rule (i.e., please don’t try
using VEX IQ apparel, Team or event support materials, packaging, Field Elements, or other non-Robot
products on a VEX IQ Robotics Competition Robot).”

According to our state head ref who also refs at world, we are not allowed to use any netting other than the anti-slip sold by vex.
We ended up making our own net out of zip ties. It won us innovate
