hey i am getting very frustrated using the vex v5 python because of how poor it was optimized, configured, and locked for using c modules is it legal to do this? I know i will have to do it right and make the vex brain stop and stuff. And i want this because my team has two programmers and very different skill levels.
You might be interested in Venice (GitHub - venice-v5/venice: Open source MicroPython port for VEX V5 robots · GitHub) which seems to be what you’re describing. As far as I know there aren’t legality issues with 3rd-party runtimes, e.g. both 2026 VEXU worlds finalists used vexide which is 3rd-party.
