Im thinking because of the 1 possession at a time rule, the method would be to push all the bean bags towards the goal in a pile to score all at once really fast. I think that depending on the restrictions, a flywheel or some kind of lift would be best. There might be some troubles with accuracy on the flywheel. Just putting my ideas out.
You’re not allowed to push / plow more than one bean bag at a time. (And can’t push one if already got one in your robot)
So i guess yeah it will likely be go collect a bunch one at a time. Get them close and then score them all as quickly as possible. (With this strategy I guess you’d want to in practice before determine how quick you can score so you know how many bags to move.
Wlcome to VEX Forum Weepous! My startegy here is to pass the beanbags or fling em* to the other side because you can only score red and blue beanbags in their color respective goal. The red beanbags seem to be on the side of the blue goal, so i think moving is needed. I may be tweaking tho lets see.
Welcome to the VEX Forum @weepus!
Since my team is going for the L4 goal(we already have a possible design!), we will probably go straight to the center and put 2 yellow bean bags on one of the L4 goals hopefully. While we do that, we will probably get our alliance partner to throw as many bean bags from their side to our side as possible. After that, we will aim to put bean bags on L3 and L2 goals.
flywheel time hoorah
im thinking catapult is meta this season
If catapult is meta, we are going to have people flinging bean bags out of the field.
kinda maybe dr4b might be meta if they can get it to the top and can score in l3
my team have already found something out and something obvious throwing flinging or etc well be a bad thing actually due to gravity and the abillity to be harder to aim or know where its gonna land without heavy practice i think the robots in the level up video might be a good choice
The thing is, I’m not trying to score with the catapult, its just to send it to our alliance across the field *or i might just go across who knows.
Well flinging is still good for passing to the other side since it just has to get in a genres area
Yah I think flinging will be meta, + a mechanism to score in L3 and L4. You guys remember the T-fling from rapid-relay
I want to use a dr4v on one site to score and a catapult on the other to pass
I was almost thinking we use the claw from the Huey bot from last season to reach level 4
i genuinely have no idea how i could fling tho
My idea is that we have a one lane converbelt that picks up the bean bags and deposits them in the L3 section with the help of a pneumatic controlled platform that the bean bags can slide down
No because the dr4b doesn’t go diagonally, it only goes up, a 6 bar does though, thats what my team has made, it is under 8 inches and reaches 26inches
Ok, here is my idea:
Both bots start in the middle between the L4 posts. They attempt to make a L4 shot with their yellow beanbag load, continue the plan if this doesn’t work out. Both bots turn right in their perspective. Both bots collect a beanbag and drive around the field to the pyramid of the matching colour (because inconveniently, the blue beanbags are by the red pyramid and vice versa). they shoot, then collect another beanbag and go back to the first pyramid. Both bots do this simultaneously. I call it The Loop Strat.
Since our team is going to build a scissor lift, my plan is to just stick to the center and score yellow beanbags.
Since you start with a yellow beanbag, send that boi to L4, grab the other yellow and bring that to L4. Repeat until all yellows are scored, which would get us to 48 or 64 points, then we work our way from the center out for the rest of the match. This may genuinely be my favorite strat yet.
