My team is trying to create a door which generates a light when it is opened and our project is due after our break but we want to make sure that we will be able to finish it on time so, do any if you have tips on what we could insert on our build for it to flash when the “door” is opened?

Are you in fact using RobotC with the old cortex system or was this mis-categorized ?
It also seems you have had several previous projects, racecar & turbine, are all these part of a robotics class ? provide some more details on the parameters for the project, which brain, how big is the door, etc. or perhaps you are just trolling us.
