RiverBots has been discontinued.

We’ll be hosting more local events and bringing back our January VEX-U event.

As shared by someone in VTOW, their signature event renewal application was denied. The reasons provided by RECF were “issues with alcohol sales/promotion” and “lack of RECF recognition.” However, Mecha Mayhem will still be run “with the same level of quality, production, and care as previous years.” Event registration will open September 1st, with the event taking place February 6-8, 2026.

My team is gonna try to get into Robot Rodeo this year :pray:

Mecha Mayhem is not a signature event, but they are still having it. RECF didn’t like that the drinking age in Alberta was 18. As you can probably tell from the fact that Mecha is no longer a signature event, some high school teams “had some fun”.

Do you know when Robotevents will start updating with with the 25-26 season?

Local events? Probably when schools/groups start scheduling events. Signature events? Soon. Last year they announced the dates, and Mall registration was 2-3 weeks after—the only exception to the “register 8 weeks prior to the sig event” rule.

After worlds, it’s all hands on deck for Worlds. Then a 3 week break and they are back.

Yea most regular season events are posted by October, and in my experience the majority start to show up on RobotEvents in September for the rest of the year.

Worlds is still happening! They’re only halfway done wrapping up the current season. It will be a while before most teams and hosts are planning for next year

the drinking age in many countries is 18 even for like the Asia open in China or the PAS in Taiwan, so like what’s the matter?
