Are we allowed to use a lubricant?
The game manual states we are allowed to use food safe lubricants in moderation.
(R14 i.)
Food-safe lubricants (grease, oils, or other lubricants) may be used on Robots, provided they are used in moderation and can not contaminate the Field, other Robots, Field Elements, and/or Scoring Objects.
So yes, lubricants are legal provided they are food safe.
