MacBook Os 10.14.6 + to run Cortex

Hello. i am a teacher that has used the cortex for 6 years is PC laptops. My students all have school-issued MacBooks. I want to dump the PC’s but continue using Cortex for at least one more year. Replacing 20 “brains” with the V5 is too much $$ at this time.

I have been enjoying Robot Mesh Studio and have the impression that it can be used to write code through MacOS to cortex. I just cannot get it to work. I have tried the VEXosUtility . It “sees” my cortex ARM but will not allow me to upload a program to it.

Am I wasting my time trying to get Cortex to work with Mac?

I believe older versions of PROS support MacOS. This should give you a pretty standard c environment much like RobotC to work with. Any of the new vexos utilites will not support cortex, as they are V5 only.

Hi Aaron.

10.14 should work, but Catalina is known to not work.

Give me a call at 1-800-839-9205, extension 3 if you’ve got the robot handy, and we’ll run through some troubleshooting steps. I’ll be in the office for another three hours.

Cheers, Sam.

Hi Sam. What time today can I reach you? Thank for offering to help. I am excited to find some success.
