A few years ago, a team mate was complaining about a rules change that outlawed hot swapping motors. From what I see in the rules, it seems like hot swapping motors isn’t against the rules, but I would just like to check with others to see if their interpretation of the rules is the same.
It isn’t against the rules, is totally legal, and most teams with decent building and researching skills use it.
If your teammates say “it’s modifying the motors”, the rule only applies to the electronics and cartridges. Modifying the motor cap is legal, so removing the screws and replacing it with rubber bands/zip ties is legal.
Just beware, when you use <> to cite something, you have to put a backslash (\) in it in order for it to show up, or the text inside “disappears”.
(I have asked other people and they agree that hot swapping motors very much seems allowed, but any problems that people see would probably be good to point out.) [ Also I just realized that the rules didn’t go in properly, they’re R15 & R16]
