my 180 Mech robot not able to lift the beam and pins with two motor, what could have gone wrong?
What gear ratio are you using? Most teams use 1:5. If yours is any less powerful, it could be a torque problem.
Hi! To actually figure out the issue, could you provide more details please? It could be a number of issues like if it isn’t gripping the beam properly in the first place then that’s the issue we help with, if it is a lifting issue it could be a torque issue. In any case, the forum will be glad to help! I recommend checking out Lemon Vex robotics video on youtube if its a beam clamp issue as they gave a tutorial, and check your ratio and battery percentage of your robot. even then if its a lifting issue, try using rubber bands to assist the motors as the vex electronics are quite weak. thanks!
A few things may have gone “wrong”. Best to post a picture and more details to get a good answer.
The assuming you used pneumatics for the claw, make sure it’s pulling the claw closed tight enough.
Make sure you got the gear ratio correct for the motors that make it turn 180 degrees. Remember that big gears to small gears gets more speed, and small to big gets more torque. Make sure your shafts are all the way in and put washers on to reduce friction. Hope this helps!
