Need Pushback Bot ideas fast (no pneumatics)

My team and I had an original idea that we came up with for what we wanted to do with our bot. Turns out our plan wasn’t very good and we scrapped it. We now have about 8 meeting hours to build something new on our pre-existing chassis. What are some ideas for our bot we should consider

And here’s a link to their youtube playlist
YouTube and robot reveals always have nice ideas. Research there and come back if you need more ideas.

I’m a bit late (I’m not on here that often), but if you need to make something quickly, I’d recommend a “glorified herobot”, which is basically just a line of rollers on a ramp. It’s not going to be great long-term, but it should be fine for early comps.

Sorry, why is the glorified hero bot not good long term? Is it due to it’s limited storage?
The reason I’m asking is because our sister team uses this design with a few variations and it’s been working well so far.

Yeah, it’s because of its limited storage, and also because most of them don’t have a way to score the middle goal.
Your teammate could also be using a ramp bot, where the ramp is wider so that it can hold more blocks (like 2145z’ robot. A glorified herobot only has enough room for a 1 wide line of blocks)

Yes, so they do have an extra wide ramp that can fit two. They also use a piston connected to one of the rubber bands on their rubber band ramp that can lower/be stretched down to score on middle. @Jdow704 if you don’t have the most time, this is the way to go with the glorified hero bot design.

Those are usually categorized as “ramp bots”. They’re harder to build and tune (so not recommended for a quick and easy solution) but are way more competitive at high-level events. So yeah, what your team has is 100% a viable option for the foreseeable future.
