Notebook Cover help/inspiration

Before reading this, please note that I do understand aesthetics aren’t a graded part of the notebook rubric, I just want our Engineering notebook cover to be pretty.

So, me and my team decided to change our theme before competitions start.

We’re going with an alien invasion theme (yes, it’s basic), because it aligns with a lot of our members and because it should be easier to make merch out of.

I’m currently designing the notebook cover, but I’m stuck. Our school is very agricultural heavy, so I wanted to go with a cow being abducted, but I can’t really get it right.

If anyone would be willing to share some inspirational pictures or their notebook covers (previous or current) so I can get some ideas for the layout, that would be amazing!

Thanks a bunch, and below are the horrible designs I messed up lol. (Yes, I’m leaning towards pixel art for this)

Unfortunately, I don’t have much to say on the creative side of things but I think this is worth noting.

I’m sure you’ve seen this but I think it’s probably somewhat important to keep in mind while designing the cover art.

Lol, thanks, but yeah, I’m really only looking for creative advice. I’ve got stuff nailed down on the rubric side of things

If you want your notebook to stand out, consider adding actual flat metal pieces, thinned license plates and gears to the cover. This will make it unmistakably VEXish.

Very interesting, will definitely check if doable, thanks!
