Hi, does anyone have notebook tips?
So this year, I am planning to make a really good notebook. But, I am still not very experienced and need some help. Some people use binders, but I heard that personally judges like notebooks better. Should I use Autodesk and print out online sketches of the robot? How detailed does everything need to be? Should I use pen or pencil to sketch?
Also I am award that the category for this may be off. If it is will someone help me with what category to put it under?

Anyone got any tips for formatting/what goes into the big binder for the notebook? And should it all be handwritten? Anything and everything is greatly appreciated.
I’m making this thread to compile tips for people who will be starting their notebooks for 2017-2018 soon (I’ll be starting mine April 22, when the game is revealed). What format do you recommend, what information should we include, etc? Thanks!
My advice: Make sure you look at the Design Award Rubric , it gives you a framework for how to construct your notebook
Sort of a “reverse” Q&A thread about the design notebook. I’m a second-year notebooker, and my school isn’t known for great notebooks, except maybe on one occasion in the past. I’ve been told that my book is “promising”, and I have learned a lot, both in person and from here. Oh, and at the utmost importance, PLEASE use the rubric provided on the REC Library. I am astounded that so many teams miss out on this opportunity. The rubric is what you will be scored on, and what really decides your success. Don’t just look at advice from others (I mean, it is helpful but) because that’s not all.
