Just for fun, I got all registered Tipping Point college, high school, and middle school teams (i.e. pretty much everyone in VRC rn) from the robotevents API and grouped them by the letter in the team number.

I kinda had a hunch that teams called X tend to perform better, but now I have data to back it up.

interesting that there’s only 71 teams with the letter U. I would have thought J or R would have been the rarest, don’t think I’ve ever seen a team with R before.

I used to be U team. U has some fun words that work with it. uranium for instance.

I think last year our school had 8349R as a team. They were pretty good, and I think they won the KY state championship with 41091A Revelation that year. So, I guess they exist, just in limited quantities, haha.
