Is this available with authorized resellers like Robomesh?

You only need to make an account on vexrobotics.com to download the software. No purchase required.

As someone who paid for a RobotC license, how does this affect me?

You can now install ROBOTC on all your computers. Students can have a copy at home and you can install a copy on every lab computer.

Is VEX acquiring Robomatter?

We just bought a set of robotc licenses last week for the Starstruck season and began to use them, is it possible for us to get a refund on the licenses so that we can use the free download instead?

meanwhile my team is using PROS :stuck_out_tongue:

I really prefer the support and debugging tools that come with using ROBOTC.

What if I bought a 1-year license?

Well it would be free now for you to keep using it and install on as many computers as you would like.

This is fully licensed software?

Yes

You also work for them :stuck_out_tongue:

VEX is our benevolent overlord. How dare you suggest that there could be any reason why RobotC for VEX would now be free other than that VEX simply wants to spread love, kindness, and rainbows throughout the world to all of its paying customers.

Debugging is definitely a huge advantage. And there’s also RVW for anyone willing to fork over that cash, and probably more people will be willing to since ROBOTC is free now. But a disadvantage to ROBOTC is it that it’s only on Windows, I hate using Windows.

Probably not, instead the price of any kit/bundle with a cortex or IQ brain is up by $30 to pay for the “free” software.

Oh, there it is. The vexnet system bundle is still $300 at least

It’s a rumor I’ve been sitting on for a few months… I didn’t want to blow it, but this seems to be the outcome.

I emailed Robomatter Sales and managed to get a refund for it, so it’s possible.

RIP best reason to use pros
