Puncher Problem with Gears

We have a problem with the puncher on our robot. It uses a rectangular and circular gear to operate. Sadly, whenever the circular gear gets to the end of the rectangular one, it suddenly stops. I think it is a problem with the stress, but any ideas would be really helpful!

FYI, this is my second post, as I accidently said we used a ratchet for the puncher, even though we didn’t. I only realized what a ratchet actually is after I posted the topic.

These are the gears (links):

Your hard stop(s) and length shouldn’t be doing this if you built it properly. Could you show us a picture of the problem?
However, going off of what you said:
If it reaches the rear end of the puncher, move you hard stop closer to the slip gear so it doesnt go out as much.
If it reaches the front end of your puncher (unlikely), either (1) lengthen your rack gears or (2) shave off some more teeth on your slip gear.

Thanks for the help! your the best man
