Push Back Worlds Meta? Rebuild?

Guys, what are your rebuild plans for worlds? We currently run an S bot and finished nationals and got worlds qual through skills. Is our scoring is abt 6 blocks in less than a second after million hours of tuning? Is that up to standard for competitive worlds play (MS)? We don’t plan to rebuild but we plan to improvise and tune our autos even more.

so this all sounds really good and 6 blocks in less than a second is very impressive for middle school. So i would say that you are on track to do great.

Sorry… what’s your team number?
I don’t see 6546W in the list at all…

and in any case, do consult @TibTy - he will be able to give good advice

In my opinion s will be meta for worlds for several reasons.:

  1. S can be tuned to have just as fast if not faster scoring than ruiguan. Ofc I’ve alr seen ur bot and so no more words rly need to be said about that.
  2. As strategy continues to evolve, we can see how important the middle two goals are. The most underrated points in pushback is the control of low goal. When playing high level matches, ruiguan is notoriously bad at scoring the low goals, and s is much better due to the straight line capabilities.
  3. skills, not much is needed to say about this.

Downsides to s:

  1. Matchloading is slower if un tuned
  2. hard to build and tune
  3. can get jammed
  4. the three block groups during autonomous is also notoriously hard to intake during auto. (My team struggles with this most).

Interms of strategy, s is honestly just a better pick due to the straight line capabilities and not disturbing the order of colors.

we’re 65404E, i didnt change username we got 3rd in ms skills.

ok buddy our auto skills sold :skull:

lesson learned: everything just blame it on the coder

I like this idea. If you have a solid bot already and you don’t feel like you need to rebuild, then practice is the way to go. If you don’t already have PID/inertial/odom, I would suggest because of the amount of time you have until worlds. (you would have time to tune etc.) Practicing driving like running scrims for your driver and set up scenarios (like de-scoring and scoring into control).

Sounds like your bot is pretty good. Good luck!
