Regarding R2a and R2b…
R2a states that any partial or full swap of Subsystem 3 (scoring mechs) subjects the robot to re-inspection before competing again, however, R2b states that all possible configurations (explicitly swappable mechanisms) need to be inspected before use in competition.
Does swapping scoring mechs still subject the robot to reinspection, even if that configuration was already inspected prior to the competition?
You know that’s a great question. I could argue what I would think the answer is but the truth is I really don’t know. I would say your best bet is going Q&A and asking the GDC.
If I had to give an opinion, I’d say your probably fine getting all configurations inspected then swapping them at will throughout the tournament. I know a team had a very modular robot at worlds this year and I don’t think they got re-inspected every time the swapped something.
I’m not entirely sure, so you should ask the Q&A, but my guess is that it would be fine if all possible configurations were already inspected.
