Remembering the best

The point of this project is to be a resource for teams to take inspiration for some of the best teams and robots in the world. Taking time to CAD the worst robots would not only waste time, but not be helpful to anybody.

I didn’t mean to sound rude, I just wanted to get the point across.

Still though, any of you with literally nothing better to do could do it

Wait… maybe we could post CAD files of bad designs… and then have everyone on the forums work to make it better! Maybe we could breed a Danny lift and dr4b to get the best of both worlds!

Edit: I’ll bring this onto a new thread. Dont talk about this here

Can we not derail this thread with a debate about whether or not bad bots are worth studying?

Wdym. The dr4b has reached its peak evolution in the form of the danny lift

This would actually be pretty cool. Maybe we can CAD new robots for old games. After all, VEX robots have improved in build quality.

Also @Zach_929U don’t be humble, we all want a CAD file of 929U’s ITZ bot. That thing was smoking fast.

lol, thank you. I will do that eventually since a few people have already asked me outside of vex forums too.

1961Z’s tray bot if possible please. thanks

I’d love to see 929U In the Zone and Turning Point.

Ah, you see, I already have a cad file made for our team lol. I might potentially post it in VF by the time we move onto our next robot.

Probably not possible due to lack of pictures, but I’d like to see 2W Gateway.

lolz but I really want to know how you managed to have a sliding tray without trouble when deploying the tray. doesn’t the part that slides out have a downward force on the stack? how did you avoid it bringing the stack down when backing away?

Thats actually a good point. You could have a mechanism where when it fully extends it locks it into place.

I would love to see a CAD file from the 1103 round up robot if at all possible. I understand this may be difficult being from so long ago but that robot always is something to strive for. If at all possible the other crazy design from yester-year would be 40B from elevation. I know I am showing my age but that machine was a piece of art.

But… y not just quote…

Hey we’re lazy ok? Dont question it

How do you open these CAD files? I assume these were done on Inventor. Is there anyway to open them on Mac?

if @Zach_929U converted them to step files, you could open them with almost any CAD software

I would very much like to see 5225A’s TB robot. I’m intrigued by their rollers which can change position. Also 10Q’s sky rise robot
