Resources Getting Started with ROBOTC

I am getting started with ROBOTC. I have not used C before, but I have used Python, Java, JavaScript/Typescript.

Looking for resources to get me started.

Why ? Which platform ? It’s pretty much obsolete at this point, no updates since 2017.

I should add, if you have some older hardware (ie. Cortex) then there’s not much choice, I think the alternatives to RobotC that were popular 10 years ago are also end of life. Just bear in mind that with a modern OS you may run into driver and other issues that will not be fixed. Most of the current forum members have never used RobotC so your best bet for help may be finding youtube videos and other information using google.

If you have IQ generation 1 hardware then start with VEXcode instead.

If you do proceed with learning and using ROBOTC, though it does have limited use these days (as jpearman mentioned), the following link takes you to a website where you can download ROBOTC: https://www.robotc.net/

Good Luck!

Welcome to Vexforum!

RobotC is no longer maintained and probably won’t work for new hardware.
As an alternative, you said you know Python, so you can program using that.

As many have said RobotC has been long discontinued. If you are still using cortex era vex parts I would suggest you tube. If you have any specific info one of our mentors was pretty well versed in it and probably could help.

If you want to program the Cortex in Python, Robot Mesh Studio, while no longer receiving updates, is an option:
