Hey everyone. I’m in need of some clarification regarding robot movement during the autonomous period. As English isn’t my first language, I’ve had trouble fully grasping the rule . Specifically, I’d like to know if robots are allowed to enter the Neutral Zone during this phase. Additionally, while I understand they have the freedom to move between Offensive Zones, I’d appreciate confirmation on the specific areas they’re prohibited from entering. Any insights or explanations would be immensely helpful as we prepare for our upcoming matches. Thank you for your assistance.
Yes both are allowed enter the neutral zone for both sides. Robots CANNOT cross offensive zones ie, crossing neutral barrier and going into other offensive zones in autonomous. Both of these rules are not applicable in driver control though.
This is not true for VEX U.
VUG3 During the Autonomous Period, Robots may not contact foam tiles, Triballs, or Field Elements on the opposing Team’s side of the Neutral Zones. However, Robots are free to move between Offensive Zones at any time. All other portions of rule apply as written.
Robots can cross between offensive zones freely in VEX U. They can also enter the neutral zone on either side, but cannot contact tiles, triballs, or field elements on the opposing side of the neutral zone.
