Guys, what if we made this post a robot ratings thread where people can post pictures of their robots and people could give feedback like Luke Does Robotic’s videos. It would be useful for the people who don’t have discord and would be nice to see unique robot designs.
I think this could be a good idea. Obviously there would need to be people willing to rate them, but that shouldn’t be an issue, especially with more cohosts doing robot ratings on the actual Robolytics.
Yea I’d be down for this. It’s could benefit people for people’s feedback on how good or bad your robot is.
Great idea! Thanks
It could work, but by mid season lots of people’s robots would be the same
Yes this sounds like a great idea, I don’t have a robot rn but I would definitely post some pictures when I do.
Could be good but Idk how well this type of thread would work with the moderations adjustments made a few years back. I cant really think of any continuously running/updating thread since chitchat/rumor mill category was removed and post by post moderation was introduced.
Yeah, I would be all for this idea. It would be quite helpful for us who do not have discord.
(also, happy birthday @gigabyte!)
As long as this thread stays closer to Robot-Related discussion and away from Chit-Chatty discussions, I think we can make it work.
I would like to rate things on here
Great idea!
too big I think. Can you make the drivetrain shorter? whats the speed
We are running 450rpm on 2.75" wheels for ~64.8 in/sec. The drivetrain is 29 holes long and 27 holes wide with a 3 hole gap that the wheels fit in. If we got rid of the funnels we could make it a little bit shorter, do you think that would be a good idea?
I think the funnel is a good idea if you are not doing a duel intake with side rollers and a top roller.
What will the rest of your robot be having?
Just a top down rubber band roller I think, have seen other teams doing that and they seem to work well.
Nice! I like the drivetrain. Good luck at Mall of America!
I think that you might want to shift your cross braces to be farther apart.
Yeah, they are very close. We are planning on adding a half-brace under the front of the robot. We can’t separate those braces more because of a hopper design that needs the brace to work.
question since ive seen other teams do this as well
why do teams use the janky gear-wheel instead of an actual traction wheel? I’d think it would create way more problems than it solves due to the uneven height.
